Delete your Hey Alex account
You can delete your Hey Alex account and everything in it at any time, in the app or by email. Here is how, and what happens.
How to delete it
- In the Hey Alex app, open Settings and tap Delete account under Account. Everything below is deleted straight away, on every device.
- No longer have the app? Email connect@thecaninemind.org from the address you sign in with, with the subject “Delete my Hey Alex account”. Nothing else is needed; if you only want some things removed, say which.
- We reply to an email to confirm, and delete everything within 30 days of it. We will tell you when it is done.
Sending from the same address is how we know the request is really yours. If you no longer have access to it, say so and we will find another way to confirm.
What is deleted
- Your account: name, email address and profile picture.
- Your dogs, their photos and their profiles.
- The questions you asked Alex’s assistant and its answers.
- Your messages with Alex, and every photo and video in them.
- Your bookings, and any call recordings and transcripts.
- The notification tokens for your phones.
What is kept
- A record that the deletion was requested and carried out: the date and an account number, with none of your content. It exists so we can show we did it.
- General training guidance Alex himself gave and approved, which may have come out of your calls. It is his advice, not your words: nothing you said is kept.
- Records of what you paid for, which we keep for tax and accounting, no longer attached to any account.
- Ordinary server logs, which are deleted automatically within 30 days.
Deleting only some of it
You can also ask us to delete a single call recording, a message, a photo or video, or one of your dogs, without closing your account. Email us the same way and say what you would like removed.
